Frequently asked questions

Is Preflop free?

Yes. You can play 20 hands every day, free forever, with the answer, the chart's mix and the reason after every hand. Your streak, XP, levels and badges are free too.

What does Preflop Pro add?

Pro is for studying your own game: unlimited hands with no daily cap, your stats (accuracy by situation and by seat, with your leaks named), a Home dashboard with the spot to fix next and the hands to revisit, Practice Filters to drill any situation or seat, your full hand history with every explanation, and a daily goal.

How much does Pro cost?

In the US, $39.99 a year with a 7‑day free trial, $7.99 a month, or $59.99 once for Lifetime. The App Store shows the price for your country before you buy. Purchases are made in the app; there is nothing to buy on this site.

Monthly, annual or Lifetime — which should I pick?

Annual is the best value if you'll study for more than a few months: it works out to about $3.33 a month, and new subscribers get 7 days free first. Monthly costs more over a year but lets you stop any month. Lifetime is a one-time purchase, the same as 18 months of annual, with nothing to renew. The free trial is on the annual plan only: monthly has none, and Apple does not offer trials on one-time purchases.

I bought Lifetime but I'm still being charged for a subscription.

Apple treats them as two separate purchases, so buying Lifetime does not cancel a monthly or annual subscription. Cancel it in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your iPhone.

How do I restore my purchase on a new phone?

Sign in with the same Apple Account, open Preflop, and tap Restore Purchases on the paywall or in Settings → Help.

Which spots does it cover?

Raise first in from every seat, facing an open from every seat against every opener, and facing a 3-bet after you opened — at 6-max and 8-max tables, 100bb deep.

Where do the answers come from?

Every spot is drawn from a fixed preflop range chart for that seat, situation and table size. After you answer you see the full frequency mix for your hand and can open the chart it came from.

Why does it sometimes say “Close enough”?

Because a hand the chart raises 54% of the time and folds 46% does not have one right answer. An action within ten points of the most frequent one is graded Close, and so is any action the chart takes at least 15% of the time. A Close answer counts toward your streak, XP and accuracy, and the explanation tells you which action the chart takes most often.

Can I choose what to practise?

Everyone can set their stack depth and table size in Practice Filters, the button at the top of Home. Choosing the situation and seat is Pro. On the free plan situations unlock as you level up, from your onboarding answers.

I already use a solver. Is this for me?

As a supplement, not a replacement. A solver is for deep study at a desk. Preflop is for the few minutes between sessions, keeping your preflop sharp. It computes no equity or EV of its own.

What do I need to run it?

An iPhone running iOS 17 or later. Preflop is made for iPhone; there is no iPad or Android version.

Is there a widget, or reminders?

Both, and both optional. The Home Screen widget comes in three sizes and shows your streak; the larger two also deal you a hand that opens straight into practice. Practice reminders are off until you allow them, and you can change them in Settings → Notifications. They are scheduled on your iPhone, not sent from a server.

How do I reset my progress?

Settings → Help → Reset Progress deletes your hand history, XP, level, streak and badges. Your plan and purchases are kept. It cannot be undone.

Do I need an account? What data do you collect?

No account. Your practice stays on your device — no analytics, no ads, no tracking. The only thing we receive is feedback you choose to send, with an email address only if you add one. See the Privacy Policy.

Is this gambling?

No. Preflop is a training app. There is no real money, no wagering, and nothing to win.
